Issue No. 2- NEW FEATURES!

NEW FUNCTIONALITY – IN DEPTH

Email reminders and notifications

One of the things you will experience is that you will start receiving emails more frequently. You will be asked to update your exercise frequency goal if you have not put in any exercises for a week. Similarly, you will be asked to update your weight on a weekly basis if you have set a weight goal.

From now on you will also be notified when another member wants to befriend you, comments on your status, recommends a video for you… et cetera. These notifications have been switched on as the default setting in your privacy settings. HOWEVER, all email notifications can of course be switched on and off individually to match your personal preference by going to your profile and choosing “PRIVACY”.

Improved chart showing your development towards your goals

We have made a new navigation bar which appears 2nd from the top when you choose “GOALS” from the main menu (top bar). In this menu bar you can click “GOALS CHART” to access the new and improved chart that shows your progress over time. Kind of like a health time-line.  Your newest data input is to the right and the oldest to the left.

This makes it easy to see how far you are ahead or behind your goals, for you and everybody you want to share this information with (depending on your privacy settings). If you haven´t set up your weight and/or exercise frequency goal yet – this is the perfect time to do so! Just go to GOAL...

Challenges - member vs. member

!site now gives you the unique possibility of challenging your friends to a friendly (but most likely fierce) fitness contest. Simply choose who you want to challenge from your friends list and set up your own goal - e.g. loosing 15 lbs. in two months or doing 8 workouts over the next two weeks. Setting up a challenge will certainly make the journey towards your goal highly motivating.

You will of course be updated on your opponent’s progress on a regular basis so you can make sure to keep up or stay ahead!  At any given time you can choose “CHALLENGES” from the new navigation bar which appears 2nd from the top when you choose GOALS from the main menu (top bar), if you want to see the current status.

Group Goals

Not only can you set personal goals – now you can also set up a goal for your group, given that you are the group owner. Set up your group goal by going to your group and choosing “EDIT”. In edit mode you will find the “Edit goal” functionality”. This functionality is extremely flexible.  You can set a weight goal if the goal is weight loss, a distance goal if the goal is walking/running e.g. 1,000 miles over a period of time… even eating 1,000 carrots before New Year’s Eve would be a possibility!

Both the groups’ overall effort and all group members’ individual contributions towards the goal challenge will be visible in your group with the leading contributors ranked at the top.

To help you keep track of all your various group challenges, we have created a shortcut that shows you which groups you are part of that currently have an active challenge: Choose “GROUP GOAL” from the new navigation bar which appears 2nd from the top when you choose “GOALS” from the main menu (top bar).

Don´t have a group yet? It only takes 5 minutes to set one up. Just go to “COMMUNITY” (top bar) and “GROUPS” (2nd bar from the top) and choose “CREATE NEW GROUP”.

Challenges - group vs. group

This is a great way of engaging people you know in a fun and healthy competition! Groups can now challenge other groups to reach a goal - or rather; a group owner can choose to either challenge another group or accept a challenge on behalf of his/her group. This functionality allows you to team up with your class, company, department, family or friends to challenge another group of people.

Men vs. women, marketing department vs. accounting, Jones vs. Anderson...you, as a group owner, are the boss and only your imagination sets the limits. Choose “CHALLENGE ANOTHER GROUP” from the list of groups you own to get going and keep track of your group challenge from the goals section by choosing “GROUP CHALLENGE”.

Level of profile completeness overview

The more complete your profile is the more value you will get from your !site membership. Picture Commenting

Commenting on e.g.  status updates, wall post, links and exercise videos has been improved and besides that you can now also comment on both members’ pictures in their galleries and on pictures in groups. You can also reply on other members’ picture comments. If a member comments on a picture in your gallery it will appear on your wall.

Invite friends to !site

Since a lot of our new functionality is way more fun to use when your friends, family and co-workers are on the site, we have made it super easy to invite your email contacts to !site! Choose the “FRIENDS” tab which appears in the navigation bar 2nd from the top when you are in the community section. From the friends section choose “SEARCH” and then invite friends to !site.

From here you can either input email addresses on people you want to invite directly or invite selected contacts from your Hotmail/Live messenger, Yahoo, Plaxo or Gmail accounts. Please note that we will NOT invite all of your contacts – only those you choose!

There is a personal comment field which you can use to add why you are inviting or e.g. the name of the group you want your, friend, family, classmates or colleagues to join once they have signed in.

P.S: If you don’t use any of the above Email providers, it is possible to import a CSV or tab-delimited file with contacts you want to invite. For detailed directions on how this can be done, please visit our FAQ section found in the footer of any page on !site.
