Create a Group Discussion

Get interactive with our new DISCUSSIONS feature!  Similar to a forum but with enhanced “following” capabilities, DISCUSSIONS allows for any group member to start discussions within their groups.  Now you can share/discuss healthy holiday recipes, and GLF@H activities.

As a group member you can participate in as many discussions as you would like and choose to follow certain discussions that you find interesting.  You can easily find these under your “FOLLOWED DISCUSSIONS” tab.

Starting a group discussion is easy!  As an admin or a participant, simply go into any one of your groups, hit the “DISCUSSIONS” tab and select “CREATE A NEW DISCUSSION.”  What a great way to share news, knowledge and experience - anything you wish!


 

 

 
 
Social Networking Just Got Easier

If you're like many people you may have more status updates and social networking sites to visit than hours in the day.  Us too!  That's why we decided to implement the services of the increasingly popular Gigya Socialize!

Socialize enables you to update your FaceBook and Twitter status messages and interact directly with your friends on these popular sites- all from your GLF@H account!  

Select your “PROFILE” tab and continue by clicking on “SOCIAL NETWORKS”. You will now see links that allow you to connect to your existing FaceBook and/or Twitter accounts.  You’ll know you’re connected once you can view your FaceBook and Twitter profile pictures from “SOCIAL NETWORKS”.

New Year = New Videos

We are excited to announce that filming has begun for our brand new GLF@H exercise videos.  You’ve spoken and we’ve listened!  Based on how you’ve rated our current videos and the number of views each video has received, Birgitte and our fabulous instructor team has planned more than 45 new videos!  Just another way to make your exercise experience with GLF@H customized to meet your needs.

While you anxiously await the arrival of our new videos we thought we would give you a couple re-cut videos to tide you over… ENJOY!

Group Recommendations and Suggestions

Similar to exercise recommendations, your group recommendations are based on your self-assessment.  These are automatically generated by our system and can be viewed on the far right block of most any page.

Group suggestions, on the other hand, come from your friends on GLF@H.  These are groups that your friends think you may find interesting.  Speaking of suggestions… we have one for you!

One of our favorite groups at GLF@H is “Lose 20lbs by Easter 2010.”  This active group is making great strides towards safe weight loss and has the support of some very dedicated group administrators.  This is an open group so anyone can join!  If you’re looking for some additional help and motivation from your peers this holiday season, this group is for you.

Email Reminders and Notifications

 

You may have noticed that your receive email reminders and notifications on a more regular basis. You will be asked to update your exercise frequency goal if you have not put in any exercises for a week. Similarly, you will be asked to update your weight on a weekly basis if you have set a weight goal.

 

From now on you will also be notified when another member wants to befriend you, comments on your status, recommends a video for you… et cetera. These notifications have been switched on as the default setting in your privacy settings. HOWEVER, all email notifications can of course be switched on and off individually to match your personal preference by going to your profile and choosing “PRIVACY”.
